South Hedland Primary School
An Independent Public School
Positive Behaviour Support - PBS
South Hedland Primary School began implementing PBS in 2013 with the purpose of establishing a safe, supportive and positive learning environment where students are respected, respectful and engaged in their learning. The PBS process provides a common set of rules and expectations that are developed in collaboration with students and communicated in a shared language. PBS aims to develop students who become positive and productive members of the school and wider community.
With PBS, we target behaviour in the same way we approach teaching and learning in English and Mathematics. Students are taught what is appropriate at school, they are given opportunities to practice such behaviour and are recognised and rewarded for engaging in appropriate behaviour.
PBS Expectations
